Tuesday afternoon me and my partner Melina packed the van ready for our trip to Tarcutta.
Wednesday after I finished work we departed Coffs for our first over night stop in Newcastle, We woke up Thursday for a 7 o’clock departure from Newcastle we were heading to my Melina’s sisters place in Canberra which we spent half the day Thursday and left around 12 on Friday to head to Tarcutta to check in to our accommodation and sign on and scrutineer my bike ready for Saturday.
Saturday Cross country
My sighting lap started at 830 and after the lap I knew it was going to be a tough 2.5hrs with the track covered in rocks and had a whole heap of log crossings that would be tough towards the end. Well because of my dnf at the last cross country round at Portland I was forced to start in the last row. Well when the flag dropped I got to a good start and by the end of the first lap I had passed 4 – 5 riders in the row in front, by the end those logs got tough to cross but I finished the race in 8th in my class and 25th out of pros experts and masters
The first sprint the starter didn’t missed my number and I was forced to start last with a minute gap but I I got held up on the first hill climb by the 3 riders in front so the time didn’t help me get seeded to well for the second sprint. The second sprint went well and I got passed the riders in front clean and was seeded for the next sprint more where I should of been so I just concentrated on being smooth and consistant. All up we did 6 sprints by the end I finished 38th outright out of 85 seniors and about 8th in my class.
Id like to thank Coffs Ktm for their support and my partner Melina for being there and helping me at the races.
My aim for the next round is to better my position again
Cheers Lincoln … Power to the KTM People !
